Privacy Policy

How we handle personal data

This policy explains how VROOOM Trading and Services W.L.L. ("VROOOM", "we", "us") handles personal data on our website at vrooom.me and in the VROOOM app. VROOOM is the data controller.

  1. The website and the Founding Member list

    If you join the Founding Member list or use a form on this website, we collect your email address and any optional details you give us. We use these only to contact you about VROOOM and to operate the website. We do not sell personal data and we do not use it for third party advertising.

  2. The VROOOM app

    Before any data is collected in the app, you are shown a consent notice. With your consent we process your account and contact details; your identity and driving eligibility documents, used only to verify your eligibility to drive and to prevent fraud; your precise location while you are using the app and during trips; vehicle and trip data, including driving events relevant to safety and to accurate billing; and your payment details, handled by our payment provider so that we keep only a tokenised reference and never your full card number.

  3. Who we share data with

    We share personal data only with service providers acting on our instructions under written agreements that require them to protect it to the same standard we do, some of whom are outside Qatar under contractual safeguards. We also share data where the law requires it, with insurers where necessary to arrange cover or handle an incident, and, if VROOOM is ever part of a business transfer, under continued protection.

    We use the Google Maps API. Google's Privacy Policy applies to that use and is incorporated into this policy by reference.

  4. Security

    We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data.

  5. How long we keep data

    We keep personal data only as long as needed for the purposes above and for our legal, insurance and fraud prevention obligations, after which it is deleted or anonymised. List details are kept until you unsubscribe.

  6. Your rights

    You can ask us to access, correct or delete your data, object to unnecessary processing, or withdraw your consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing already carried out. To delete your account and the data linked to it, write to contact@vrooom.me. You can also complain to Qatar's competent data protection authority.

  7. Age

    Our website, list and app are for people aged 18 or over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone younger.

  8. Changes

    If we update this policy, we will change the date and version above, and tell you within the service where the change is material.
